After the latest update I've been to Mallis - and even came back and return to work too. The amount of recovery (for my delicate mind) has been needed that it's first now that I feel able to write down some thoughts on what happened on the island of islands. I'll start going through the first couple of days with some pics. Here we go!
Welcome to Mallis! Jarkko is showing me the luxury "bed" where I slept for the first 5 nights. No princess treatment on offer!
First morning on the island started off with a little morning run. Hard not to smile and be happy.
On my first morning I found these nice trails just less than a 10min jog away from our house at Can Pastilla.
Beachbumming on the first day.
Sunny evening run on the first day. And first double run day in 8 months!

As said, I spent my eight days at Mallis with the GIF-CHEBICI team boys. The nine of us had rented a house for seven and gentlemen as they are, I got to sleep in the living room on a kids air mattress in my sleeping bag (see the pic above) for the first 5 nights. After that, one of the boys went home and I got an upgrade to a real bed.
On my first day at the island I still hadn't got my rental bike so I spent the day by doing running twice and walking five hours on the beach and the beach promenade between Can Pastilla and S'Arenal in between. Historical day: first double run day in over 8 months! I could run 6,5km in the morning and 11,5km in the evening without any pain in the foot. So happy after that!
Playa del Palma, looking quite ok.
My rental ride in the Palma harbour.
Not so sunburned (yet!) bike tourist in Palma harbour.
Trying to catch the beauty of the sea in a pic.

On the second day of my stay (monday) I got my bike in the morning. The bike was a decent Cervelo, a good ride for a weeks stay. Boys said I looked a bit funny on the bike compared to the one at home, but I've ridden much worse bikes before. And having the option of renting a bike to that of dragging the bike bag around at the airport, I definitely go for the renting. So easy and so convenient when staying only for one week and not racing or anything like that.
As a first bike ride I had planned to do an easy 2-hour ride as I had been on the bike two times in March.. But well, those two hours turned into four and my first 100+km ride since 2010 and the knee injury. So it was the first 100k's for my "new knee" - second happy day in a row. I also got myself into the city centre of Palma in the end of the ride.. At least I learned where NOT to go during the following days.
